Beef Recall Continues…
UFG (United Food Group LLC) is expanding a beef recall to over 5.7 million pounds of beef. That's a lot of beef... The beef recall was due to the potentially deadly E.Coli bacteria according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
How serious it is? well, about 14 people gotten ill after eating the beef just in six states. According to the department, all of them have recovered. That's a good news.
Just beware of the problem. Check your freezer and check if you have any beef with the label "EST. 1241" inside the USDA mark of inspection. If you see them, throw them away! or get a refund from the store.
Lastly, if you are not familiar with e.coli O157:H7, it can cause some serious diarrhea and dehydration. This is deadly if you have poor immune system. Thus, children and elderly are the most susceptible.
I almost forgot, Tyson Foods is also recalling about 40,000 pounds of ground beef as well. They are checking for possible e-coli contamination. At this time no illnesses have been reported, but just be careful.
That's all for today.
